Anycast Service
Anycast allows some internet applications to be reachable with much increased redundancy and capacity.
88.io has a dedicated autonomous system number AS 133175 for our anycast service, which is being served from 5 sites in 4 cities worldwide:
- London - 1 site
- Los Angeles - 1 site
- Sydney - 2 sites
- Tokyo - 1 site
Users of our global Anycast IP addresses (e.g. virtualvaccine.me) will be routed to the closest one of the above sites. Should the servers in any one of those sites go down, users will be automatically routed to the remaining sites.
