Area Alias

Sharing Public Data

Area Alias is used to share public data - it is the second step in the evolution from a computer user to a compute owner.

An Area Alias

  • you receive an online security package (including an email address, a set of encryption and signing keys etc.)
  • you can access to a number of open sourced online services e.g. aunsw.88.io services).

creating trusted contact points (e.g. phone numbers, email addresses, web sites etc.)

Private Alias

The Private Alias comes by default which is used only for data collection privately (without the ability to disclose any data to anyone).

With Private Alias NO data leave your phone and the features available for this alias are in the Dynamic Alias and Area Entity menus only.

Area Alias

To create an Area Alias please follow the simple 2-STEP process at 138813.au.

The Area Alias is similar to the Private Alias except Area Alias is a requirement in order to upgrade to the Community Alias.

It also comes with a SOGo account so it can be used to sync an Address Book, a Calendar and a mailbox (IMAP) account.

Community Alias

Requirement: Area Alias.

To upgrade to the Community Alias, it must be done the next day after the Area Alias has been created.

If the user misses the next day to do the upgrade, the phone number must be re-verified by ringing 138813 so the alias can be upgraded on the next day.

Setup

  1. Select Dynamic Alias -> Alias Management -> Create Alias and enter the phone number. In the example below, the phone number used is 61410311082.

  1. Click on the will_call_now button and ring 138813 within 60 seconds to verify the phone number.
  2. The message ok: verified will be displayed if successful. Click on the Close button to continue.

  1. Enter the Alias PIN and click on the create button.

  1. This process will take approximately 1-2 minutes. Do NOT move away or close the website until the wallet_completed message is displayed.

Personal Alias

Requirement: Community Alias

Setup

  1. To upgrade to the Personal Alias, select Dynamic Alias -> Alias Verification -> Identity Verification -> Phone Number - Call In and enter the phone number. In the example below, the phone number is 61410311082. The Number Name and Publish as Label fields are optional.

  1. Click on the register button and ring 138813 within 1 minute. The website can be left running in the background but do NOT close it.
  2. If the phone number has been successfully verified, you will be prompted to enter the current alias password.

  1. The new alias can be saved into the local disk, the remote server or both.

Photo

This feature allows photos to be attached to the location pin.

In the example below, a photo of a door is taken.

After clicking on the submit button, a black_location_pin pin will be added on the map.

Clicking on the black_location_pin pin will display how many photos have been submitted.

In the example below, there is one photo submitted.

Text

The Text recognition feature allows the text from the photos taken to be detected.

In the example below, a mobile phone specification photo is taken,

After clicking on the submit button, a black_location_pin pin will be added on the map.

In the example below, one photo is submitted.

Clicking on 1 will reveal the result of the text detected.

The scores shown on the right indicate the accuracy level where the higher the score, the more accurate the text is detected.

Delete: this button will delete the photo taken but the web pin will remain on the map.

Result: this button will reveal the scores in more details.

Hub: this button is not available for Private Alias users.

Short Link: this button generates a one-off link to allow other Community Alias users to view the photo taken on their Personal Console.

Copy Last Short Link to Clipboard: this button will copy the last short link generated to the clipboard.

Audio

To attach an audio file to a web pin, simply click on the Record button to record your audio.

NOTE: If prompted, allow audio.aunsw.88.io to use your microphone

To listen to the recording, click on the play button.

If you are happy with the recording, click on the Save button and a black_location_pin pin will be added to the map.

In the example below, two audio files attached to the web pin.

Boundary

Define The Outline:

  1. Place the first Pin (e.g. Web Pin or Touch Pin) right on the boundary (seen as Touch Pin 1 in the image below)

  1. Add additional Pins along the border of the building (seen as Touch Pins 2 to 9 in above image).

  2. After ALL the required pins are added along the boundary, you can join them together into a boundary.

    • Click on the Location Pin (pin 1) -> Attach -> Boundary -> Tick all Pins -> Draw

  1. Click on the Store Image button to save the boundary outline.

  1. When completed, the outline will be inside the Picture.

NOTE: some of the features inside the Picture are not available for Private Alias users.

Community: is not available for Private Alias users.

Delete: this is to delete the photo(s) in the Picture.
Short Link: generates a one-off link for other Community alias users to view the image.
Floorplan: using the photo(s) in the Picture as a floorplan.
