Introduction

Currently aufs software is used to provides Stack storage functionality within Infinite Disk.

Compatibility

Ubuntu 22.04 does NOT support aufs by default, if you need aufs (and you do if you are running an infinite disk access node) then stay on Ubuntu 20.04.

Alternatives

With support for multiple layers, a file system with overlay2 features may be an alternative to aufs, when outstanding issues are fixed:

  1. compatibility with underlying ZFS
  2. ability to perform remount
