# Reserve Currency

Although the 88.io global organisation has been designed to be a [swiss verein](https://web.88.io) and Switzerland is not in the EU, [88.io](http://88.io)'s reserve currency is the [euro](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro) e.g. all fees charged by 88.io will be charged in euro.
