Your Income = Your Data + Your Compute
Cloud Compute has been profiting from YOUR data, now it is your turn!

Infinite Disk storage are normally exchanged in 8GB blocks (1 GB is 1 trillion bytes). This small storage exchange units means EVERYONE, no matter their internet bandwidth, equipment quality and storage type (even storage from inside your wifi router) can participate.
Trading Storage is the easiest, it is more about saving money instead of earning money.
With Compute Trade no money change hands - you are making available to others the same amount of storage capacity as you need from others.
For example, you have 20 x 8 GB = 160 GB free across your varies devices, you can offer them in return for 20 x 8 GB of Infinite Disk storage, for your photo backups, video broadcasts etc.
You are of course free to set how much you want charge for storage capacity, the following are just recommended price ranges.
Even putting Infinite Disk's other advantages (e.g. privacy, reliability, flexibility etc.) over Cloud storage aside, on a byte by byte basis it is also substantially cheaper.
Currently the recommended maximum price for 8GB is based on the iCloud 200GB monthly price in your country.
For example, in Australia the iCloud Price for 200GB on 2024-10-02 is AU$4.49 a month, so for 8Gbyte it is AU$0.1796 per month.
Infinite Disk delivers storage in 160GB storage block (which based on the above iCloud price is $3.5920 per month), that needs to be divided up between up to a maximum of 48 Compute Owners involved - 16 proxy owners working together to manage 32 storage owners, resulting a possible maximum 8GB earning of AU$0.0748 per month for each owner.
That amount is many times above the cost of raw retail price storage at about AU$0.0057 per month.
Small and low powered portable USB portable drives can be purchased quite cheaply in most parts of the world.
For example, in Australia one is available from Officeworks on 2024-10-02 for AU$172 / 500 = AU$0.344 per 8 GB, that is with 3 years warranty and includes all tax and delivery.
If you are the world's most unlucky person and the drive dies immediately on the day after the warranty expires, the cost per 8GB is AU$0.0096 per month.
Based on the median hard disk life expectancy of 6.75 years and rounding that to down to a shorter drive life of 5 years, the cost is about AU$0.0057 per month.
In most cases there is NO need to buy new storage, most people will have spare storage capacity on their existing devices
88.io is a Cyberspace Incubator so get people started instantly with a Private Cyberspace.
Area Entities are designed to be owned by the people who live, work, visit that area. They map to existing government structures.
Below is an example of the domain naming differences between instant-on incubator area entities and real production quality area entities in Australia.
Area Entity | Incubator Domain | Country Domain |
---|---|---|
Global | 88.io | .00 |
Country | au.88.io | au.au |
Region | aunsw.88.io | aunsw.au |
District | sydney.aunsw.88.io | sydney.aunsw.au |
The idea is to minimise the difference between the two type of area entities by simply replacing the 88.io
part of the domain with the country's own top-level domain (e.g. with au
in Australia).
