Linux Phone

Unified Secured Console

Unlike iOS and Android mobile phones, Linux phones give their owners full control of their devices, making them the ideal Personal Console.

Although still not ready for the masses, Linux phones are starting mature e.g. there are many Linux based OS for PinePhone.

A promising development direction is running virtual machines on the Linux Phone to create a Secure Console.

Pine64 - hardware

Pine64 offers 2 Linux based mobile phones:

  1. PinePhone
  2. PinePhone Pro

As long as they keep their hardware open to any software (e.g. offering SPI and Tow-Boot capabilities in them), their phones are great low cost development devices.
