Currently your Data Node is based on the open sourced [Nextcloud](https://nextcloud.com/) software.

Nextcloud supports a number of iOS mobile apps, however the only mandatory installation is the Nextcloud File Application. Other related iOS apps can be used, but without universal support.

# Nextcloud Account Set Up

Note: the server address below is for Community alias users only. For Member alias users, the server address is [https://data-bohcif8iew8e.jeiheaxi2iu4phea.1.88.io](https://data-bohcif8iew8e.jeiheaxi2iu4phea.1.88.io/)

After the app has been installed:

1. Select the ![android_login_button](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/c/c344429771b345d83b4a4078405cfca30af3aa47.png) button
2. Put [https://data.quuvoo4ohcequuox.0.88.io](https://data.quuvoo4ohcequuox.0.88.io) in the server address field and tap on the ![android_right_arrow](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/7/71ce1b54bfce77e41df0f27543077b6d48f19fe9.png) button.

1. There might be a warning as shown below. Simply tap on the **Log in** button to continue.

1. Enter the Nextcloud **Username** and **Password** , tap on the **Log in** button and select the **Grant Access** button. # Nextcloud File Synchronisation

1. On the bottom left right corner, select the ![ios_menu_button](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/6/67544a42a0116d91d2e5b3de6e42c6ffc1b32b6b.png) button and go to **Settings**.
2. Select **Auto upload** and if prompted, select **Allow Access to All Photos**.

1. Enable the **Auto upload** as shown below.

4.Tap on the **Select the "auto upload" folder** and browse to the folder detected to be used for automatically upload photos to Nextcloud. To use a different folder that is not detected or shown, click on the **Create folder** button. In the example below, the **InstantUpload** -\> **Camera** folder is selected. To save the the selection, tap on the ![ios_select](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/0/060fbd409e738cdc574ba9456586213420e0b920.png) button.

1. Every time a photo is taken, it will be automatically uploaded to the InstantUpload -\> Camera folder on Nextcloud.

# Nextcloud Contacts Synchronisation

1. Open the Settings application.
2. Select Contacts.
3. Select Accounts.
4. Select Add Account.
5. Select Other as account type.
6. Select Add CardDAV account.
7. Enter the details and select the ![ios_next_button](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/a/a1ac4544b9a54fd85cb4ca368954356935ce92a2.png) button. In the example below, the username is `axxvwjtboxwi`

1. If there is an SSL error, select Cancel and the **Advanced Settings** menu will be displayed. Click on it and in the Account URL field put [https://data.quuvoo4ohcequuox.0.88.io](https://data.quuvoo4ohcequuox.0.88.io)

1. Go back to CardDAV and click on the **Save / Done** button.

# Address Book

All the address books can be viewed on **Contacts** -\> **Lists**. By default, two address books are created automatically:

1. Accounts, which lists all the session IDs created for all users. These are **READ ONLY** , so any session ID/contact deleted from this address book, it will re-appear.
2. Contacts, which allow users to add, edit and delete their contacts and can be synced to other devices.

On iOS devices, some of the names used are different to devices on Android and Nextcloud

Manually added address books from an Android device will also appear here. In the example below **addressbook1** is created by DAVx app on an Android device.

However, the **addressbook1** can not be edited or deleted on iOS, only the contacts inside addressbook1 can be edited or deleted.

Unlike DAVx app on Android, it is not possible to add an address book on CardDAV on iOS and be recognised as an address book on Android. Only the Contacts menu allows a new list to be added. In the example below, the list name **addressbook2** and the contact inside it are recognised as two different contacts (not an address book) on Android. On IOS, the contact inside addressbook2 appears in two different address books, in **Contacts** and **addressbook2**.

On Android, the addressbook2 is recognised as **Surname** of a contact with no other detail. If a phone number is added, it can only be seen on Nextcloud, but not on iOS since **addressbook2** is an address book on iOS.

Because **addressbook2** is recognised as a contact on Android, when it is deleted on Android, the addressbook2 on iOS is also deleted, however the contacts inside addressbook2 will remain in the **Contacts** address book.

# Shared Address Books

Shared Address Books can only be configured from Nextcloud, however once configured, they are also available on Android and iOS devices and the contacts inside the shared address books can be edited and deleted, if the Read/Write permission is granted.

# Category Field

In the test below, the category used is the same, however the category name is different on different devices:

- **Labels** on **Android**
- **Contact groups** on **Nextcloud**
- Not supported on iOS

# Title and Organisation Fields

In the test below:  
Title: **Dr**  
Company: **Citymark**

**Dr** (with capital D) appears exactly on Android and Nextcloud. However, on iOS, each letter is capitalised so it is **DR**

**Citymark** (with capital C) appears exactly on Android and Nextcloud. However, on iOS, each letter is capitalised so it is **CITYMARK**

1. Open the Settings application.

3. Select Accounts.

1. Grant access to the device.

# Usage

1. Click on the ![android_nextcloud_talk_+](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/2/2cd1cc34dabd1a7568a338ae3c13b4bb4de0e1e7.png) button to select the user that you want to chat or call.
2. Once the user has been selected, you can send a text message, make an audio call or make a video call. In the example below, the user selected is **jcycijdf**.

1. To send a text message, type your message at the bottom of the screen. To make an audio call, select the ![ios_nextcloud_audio](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/5/5731240893692bacd5bf243945cc413ce3173fc5.png) button and to make a video call, select the ![ios_nextcloud_video](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/4/48edb7a3bf2c054ef3918bd986df25c3d01541a7.png) button.

2. Once a message or a call has been made, it will be shown in the chat history.

**Please note:**

The Screen Sharing feature can only be initiated from Windows devices as shown in the image below.

1. Enter the account name and password. In the example below, the account name is **evfwqwik**.

1. Grant access to the device.

# Usage

1. If prompted, allow Nextcloud Deck permission request. If successfully logged in, the image below will be displayed.

1. To add a new card, click on **Personal** then the ![ios_create_card](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/9/9ba9c4e569bf40e22fce4402f30f34fd947aadbf.png) button and enter the **Title** name. In the example below, the title is "Meeting with John". Click on the ![ios_send](https://discuss.88.io/uploads/default/original/2X/3/32831f9ac93226e84c54ad80ba858f0acf1c1779.png) button to continue.

1. Once saved, the card will be shown on the page. By clicking on the card name, e.g: **Meeting with John** , the user will be able to add more details such as the Due Date, Description, Comment etc.
