Campus Compute Station (also referred to as "Campus Station" or just "CS") provide RELIABLE compute power to the community cluster.

Minimum Hardware Specification

Whether buying new or repurposing old computers, the following are the minimum hardware specifications for a Campus Station:

  • Processor: 64-bit
  • Encryption: Hardware
  • Memory: 6 GBytes
  • Disk: 64 GBytes
  • Ethernet: 1Gbps
  • USB: 2 x USB 3.0
  • WiFi: 802.11n and 802.11ac
  • Bluetooth: 4.2

Note only x86-64 hardware is supported at the moment but support for ARM64 is planned.

Minimum Software Specification

Campus Station runs Disposable Nodes in both LXC and KVM containers, the currently supported operating systems are:

  • Proxmox
  • Ubuntu with LXD

Reference Designs

There are millions of laptops and desktops out there gathering dust - repurpose them into Campus Stations!

For those who want to have a more turnkey experience, we have 2 reference designs available to give away or to be purchased:

  1. SOYO M2 running Proxmox (CS24a)
  2. Morefine S500+ running Proxmox (CS24c)

Campus Station 24a

CS24a is an ultra low-end Campus Station for early Citizen Startups that do NOT have much resources.

Campus Station 24c

CS24c is the recommended Campus Station for most Citizen Startups.
