Balance Diagram
The above "Life Balance Diagram" is a remix of the image in 10-rules-of-ikigai, which follows a long line of remixes of this insightful image worldwide since 2009.
As an aside, the remix history of this diagram is quite interesting:
- Marc Winn used the "Purpose Diagram", which Andres Zuzunaga published in Spanish in 2012, to create his own English "Ikigai Diagram" in 2014, without formal attribution to Andres until 2025.
- Andres Zuzunaga claimed in 2020 that his "Purpose Diagram" just came to him without giving details, no mention of how closely his diagram actually looks like the "Bliss Diagram" already published by Dorothy Shapland in 2011, which has been remixed by many others, including in Spanish in 2012.
Another interesting fact is that the "Ikigai Diagram", which has helped spread Ikigai worldwide, while an extremely useful self-reflection tool in its own right, is actually a profound misrepresentation of Ikigai.
