This will be our first Production Release with bug fixes and security patches for at least 5 years. One of Area Teams deploying this release will be aunsw.au.
- Production Releases has stable features and are suitable for general usage, with at least 5 years support.
- Staging Releases are for Compute Owners who like to experience the latest technologies at the expense of stability. There will be NO new features added to Staging Releases, they are for shaking out bugs of well-defined stable features for 6 months before a Production Release. Staging Releases have 6 months of support only and will transition seamlessly into the upcoming Production Release.
- Development Releases are for Compute Owners who like to participate in the development of a new release, there will be constant feature changes and lots of bugs.
Although there are at least 5 years of support for all Production Releases, updating once every year to the next Production release is highly recommended. Your local Area Team might provide longer than 5 years support to Production Releases.
